A warm welcome

My name is Fiona Turnbull and I’m an experienced UKCP-accredited and BACP-registered psychotherapist. I offer individual in-person therapy from my two practices based in Clapham, south London, and in Pimlico, central London, as well as a limited number of online spaces. I take great care to provide a supportive, compassionate, professional service to all my clients and to create a safe, confidential environment.

Therapy sessions take place weekly. I offer long-term open-ended therapy as well as brief therapy for a fixed number of sessions where appropriate. I work with adults aged 18 and over and am also a qualified group psychotherapist.

My fee is £80 for a session. My sessions are all during the working day on Tuesdays (Clapham), Wednesdays (Pimlico) and Thursdays (Pimlico). I’m not available to offer evening sessions.

I am also a supervisor-in-training and currently have space for one to two new supervisees, as at September 2024. More information is available on my supervision page. Do contact me if you’re interested in finding out more.

You’ve already taken the first step

You’ve already taken a positive step by looking here and considering therapy, whether you have something quite specific you’re concerned about or a more underlying sense of unease that something is not quite right in your life. You may be exploring therapy for many different reasons, perhaps after a bereavement or major life event, because of relationship difficulties, or struggles with anxiety, depression or self-esteem. Whatever brings you to therapy, rest assured I work with clients from many diverse backgrounds facing a broad range of challenges.

What is therapy?

I describe therapy as a conversation with you at its heart. It’s an opportunity to be deeply heard and a space to explore aspects of life you may be struggling with. It’s a conversation with the purpose of healing, guiding you towards a life in which you have more choice, flexibility, fulfilment and satisfaction.

What can therapy help with?

I can help by offering you a safe, confidential space and time each week dedicated to supporting you to explore your life and any difficulties you may be struggling with. I work with a wide range of themes, for example anxiety, relationship difficulties, grief, loss and self-esteem. That said, I like to get to know you as an individual – your unique experiences, circumstances, difficulties, strengths, life history and way of being in the world – rather than thinking of you in terms of ‘issues’.

What’s my approach to therapy?

My style of therapy is guided by three principles.

You matter.

You’re not the problem.

And you can change, though you don’t have to.

Make contact

My website gives a flavour of how I work but there’s no substitute for scheduling an initial session, in person or on video call, to explore further how I could help you and to answer any questions you may have.

If you’d like to talk, feel free to email me at fiona@fionaturnbull.co.uk or call me on 07775 972727 and leave a message with your name and number.  As I’m mostly in sessions with clients, I often can’t pick up immediately, so I’ll get back in touch with you wherever possible within 48 hours (Mondays to Fridays).
